**Besides For a show and Stay in touch, Opportunities lists the leads that have gone quiet, the people to tell about your new works, the artists to offer a client, and the institutions and curators to approach for an artist. This article describes those lists, the contact log every contact has, and the Don't reach out mark. Switching Opportunities on, the two main lists and how to answer a row are in [Opportunities: whom to contact next](/hc/wrklst-docs/articles/1792501049-opportunities-whom-to-contact-next). This article describes WrkLst 10.**

## Gone quiet

**Gone quiet** lists the leads you may see that nobody has moved:

* an open lead with no move to another stage, no entry in its timeline and no follow-up date for 60 days;
* a lead with a goal other than Sale that was lost for its **Timing** at least six months ago — unless a follow-up set on it still lies ahead.

The longest silence comes first. Each row is the lead itself: its goal, the person — a click opens the lead — its stage, whose lead it is, "Nothing has happened for …" or "Lost for its timing … ago", and the last contact. Its one action is **Check back**, which sets the lead's own follow-up date; if the lead is still quiet on that day, it comes back here. A lost lead gets no reminder. Gone quiet never makes or moves a lead by itself, and it has no **Not relevant** and no **Show hidden**. **Mine** lists the leads you own. Leads of people marked **Don't reach out** or set to check back are left out.

## New works

**New works** pairs each work added in the last 30 days that is available with the people who have a reason on its artist — the reasons of For a show: they bought the artist, bought for a client, advised on a purchase, hold an offer, are on the waitlist, asked about the artist, own their works or looked at them in a presentation. One row per person and work. A work in an edition appears once for the edition, with **Available copies: …**; its picture and caption link to the copy a lead is made with. A work whose availability its own page hides from you is not proposed.

If you may see prices, a note compares the work's price with what the person paid for this artist in your sales, with some leeway either side: **Within what they have paid for this artist** or **Outside what they have paid for this artist**. A work outside sinks in the list but stays on it. For 12 months after a **Price** answer, the comparison allows no leeway. A work with confidential prices gets no note.

* **Make a lead** starts a sale lead with the person and the work.
* **Not relevant** offers **Not this work**, **Never for …**, **Price** and **Already has it**. **Already has it** takes the work off the list for this person and teaches the ranking nothing.

A person who declined the work on a lead, or who has or had a copy of it, is never proposed for it.

## For a client

**For a client** shows the artists to offer one person. Choose them with **Pick a client**, a search of your contacts. Each row is one artist, strongest first, with the person's reasons on that artist — the reasons of For a show — and, if you may see all sales, **Shared collectors**: "Collectors of … also bought …", when at least three of your buyers bought both artists. An artist the person already bought is offered too, with the purchase among the reasons: new work by an artist they collect is often welcome. A consultant named on your sales is proposed for the artists whose purchases they advised on (**Advised**).

* **Make a lead** starts a sale lead with the person and the artist. While an open sale lead names the artist, the row stays away.
* **Not relevant** offers **Not this artist** — *Only for this client, under For a client* — **Never for …** — *Also not for this artist's shows and new works* — and **Price**.

On the contact itself, the **Leads & Waitlist** section lists the strongest **Artists to offer**, each with **Make a lead: …** and **Not relevant: …**, and **All artists to offer (…)** opens For a client on that person. The contact's summary names the first one: **Artist to offer: …**.

## Institutions for an artist

**Institutions for an artist** shows the institutions, curators and venues to approach for one artist. It is offered while **Exhibition** or **Loan** is a switched-on goal under **Settings › Leads**. Choose the artist with **Pick an artist**. Each row is one contact with what they did with this artist in your account:

* **Showed** — the venue of a show with the artist, with confirmed dates;
* **Curated** — named on a show with the artist under **Contacts**, with **Counts as** set to **Curator**;
* **Curated a museum purchase** — the **Curator** of a **Museum sale** of the artist's works;
* **Borrowed** — a non-financial consignment, a loan, of the artist's works to them;
* **Acquired** — a donation or gift of the artist's works to them, or a museum sale to them;
* **Lead, not a sale** — a lead with the goal Exhibition, Loan, Acquisition or Representation that names the artist.

**Relationship** says whether you are already in touch: **Lead open**, **Won …** or **None yet**. Your own locations are never proposed.

* **Make a lead** starts a lead with the goal Exhibition — Loan if Exhibition is switched off — with the contact and the artist. While an open lead with one of the four goals above names the artist, the row stays away.
* **Not relevant** offers **Not here** — *Only for this artist, under Institutions for an artist* — and **Never for …**.

## Artists for a curator

The other way round: on the contact of a curator or an institution — anyone with one of the reasons above for an artist you may see — the **Leads & Waitlist** section lists **Artists to propose**: the artists you represent (**Status** **Represented** on the artist's contact) to suggest to them, strongest first, with **Show all (…)** for the rest. The contact's summary names the first one, **Artist to propose: …**; a click opens the list. It has no tab of its own and, like Institutions for an artist, needs the Exhibition or Loan goal.

The reasons are **Shown together** — "… was in a group show with …", one of your group shows with an artist they showed or curated — **Shared collectors**, if you may see all sales, and their own history with the artist: a curator who curated a show with an artist before is proposed that artist again. **Make a lead** starts a lead with the goal Exhibition, else Loan. **Not relevant** offers **Not this artist** — *Only for this contact, under Artists to propose* — and **Never for …**.

## The contact log

Every contact's summary has a contact log — whether or not Opportunities is switched on:

* **Last contact** — when, how and who — with **Log contact**.
* **Stay in touch** — the rhythm and where it comes from, with **Change**: **Automatically** (from the shortest shared list with a rhythm they are on, else from their buying rhythm once they have bought three times, otherwise the account's default), **No reminders**, or **A rhythm of their own** (**Every … days**, between 30 and 730).
* A check-back, if one is set, with **Clear**.
* **Contact log** — the latest entries, and **Show all**.

WrkLst adds mails by itself: a mail you send a contact through WrkLst, a mail you keep on the contact from your mailbox (**Kept mail**), and campaign mails, which never count as contact. The mails already on record when the contact log arrived are in it too. A mail that was no real contact — a delivery notice, a wrong address — can be marked **Doesn't count**, and **Counts again** undoes that. An entry logged by hand can be deleted by whoever logged it or by someone who may edit contacts; it then no longer counts.

**Log contact** asks **When** (today unless you change it), **How** — **Call**, **Meeting**, **Fair**, **Mail outside WrkLst**, **Text message** or **Other** — and an optional **Note** of up to 500 characters. WrkLst reminds you there: "Never note health, religion, political views or other sensitive details about the person."

Your colleagues see who was in touch, when and how — never what a mail said. On a confidential contact, the note is hidden from anyone who may not reveal confidential contacts. The contact log is hidden in presentation mode.

## Don't reach out

When someone asks not to be contacted, or objects to marketing, mark them with **Don't reach out…** — in the contact's action menu, or in a row's **⋯** menu. Choose why — **They asked not to be contacted**, **They objected to marketing** or **Another reason** — and confirm with **Mark “Don't reach out”**. WrkLst records the wish with the date, who recorded it and why. The contact then shows **Don't reach out** with since when, by whom and the reason, and the change goes into the contact's history.

From then on:

* campaigns never reach the person, and **Write to them** on a show's Suggested list leaves them out;
* a single mail goes only once you say why — **It answers their message**, **An invoice, a delivery or other business** or **Another reason** — and the reason is kept with the message;
* connected newsletter tools unsubscribe their addresses;
* labels and letters made from your templates leave them out — the download says how many were left out, and **Include them for a business letter** makes it again with them;
* Opportunities stops proposing them, and no check-back reminder comes for them.

The mark follows the e-mail address. When an address of a marked person is saved on another contact — in the contact form, an import or when a lead becomes a contact — that contact is marked too, with the reason **same email address**. WrkLst never says who the other person is.

Anyone who can see a contact can mark it, confidential contacts included. **Lift…** removes the mark, again with a reason — **They agreed to be contacted again**, **It was marked by mistake** or **Another reason** — and needs the right to edit contacts (on a confidential contact also the right to reveal it). Lifting does not sign anyone up again: addresses that were unsubscribed from a newsletter stay unsubscribed until the person signs up again.

## Check back reminders

On the day a check-back you set comes due, WrkLst notifies you with **Time to check back** and the person's name; a click opens the contact. Only the person who set the check-back is reminded, and nobody is reminded about a person marked **Don't reach out**. If you receive notifications by e-mail, this one comes by e-mail too. You can switch it off under **Settings › Notifications** with **Check back**. A subscription with **Lead follow-ups and check-backs** under **Settings › Calendar** puts your check-backs into your calendar app as well.

## What WrkLst keeps, and for how long

The lists themselves are never stored. What WrkLst keeps is on the contact:

* the answers — who gave them and when, the person, the show, the work or the artist, and which kinds of reasons the row had, but never the sales, leads or works behind those reasons (a **Make a lead** answer remembers the lead it made);
* the contact log;
* a check-back, a rhythm of their own and the **Don't reach out** mark.

All of it is kept as long as the contact exists. When a deleted contact is removed for good — 62 days after it was deleted — its answers, its contact log, its check-back and rhythm, its mark and the notifications about it are deleted with it. For a person marked **Don't reach out**, WrkLst keeps only a one-way fingerprint of each e-mail address — no name and no other detail — so the same address saved again is marked again. If it cannot keep that fingerprint, the contact is not removed.

## Who sees what in these lists

The rights of [Opportunities: whom to contact next](/hc/wrklst-docs/articles/1792501049-opportunities-whom-to-contact-next) apply here too, and every reason is checked for the person looking at it. In addition:

* **Gone quiet** lists only leads you may see; its **Check back** needs **Edit & delete** for **Leads**.
* **New works** needs **View** for **Works**; the price note needs **Read and edit prices for works**.
* **Shared collectors** needs the right to see all sales, not only your own.
* **Showed** and **Curated** need **View** for **Exhibitions**.
* **Make a lead** and **Not relevant** need **Edit & delete** for **Leads**.

**Still using WrkLst Classic?** Opportunities, the contact log and **Log contact** are part of WrkLst 10, and a link to Opportunities always opens it in WrkLst 10. Classic shows the **Don't reach out** mark on a contact and asks for a reason before a single mail goes to a marked person, but you set and lift the mark in WrkLst 10. Mails sent from Classic count as contact too.
