**MailerCheck is a service that tests whether an email address really exists. Connect your MailerCheck account in WrkLst, check the addresses of all your contacts in one go, and each contact shows which addresses not to send to.** It is a good step after importing a large contact list, before your first mailing.

## Connect MailerCheck

1. Create an account at mailercheck.com and buy credits. Every address you check uses one credit.
2. In MailerCheck, create an **API token**.
3. In WrkLst, open **Settings › Integrations**, find the **MailerCheck** card and paste the token into **API key**.
4. Select **Check token**. WrkLst shows how many credits you have left.
5. Save your settings.

## Check your addresses

On the MailerCheck card, **Not checked yet** shows how many email addresses of your contacts have not been checked. Select **Check email addresses**. WrkLst sends them to MailerCheck, which can take a while for a long list; you can leave the page, and the card shows the progress when you come back.

Addresses that were checked before are skipped, so you can start the check again at any time, for example after an import. When you change an address on a contact, its old result is removed and it counts as not checked again.

If the check stops, the card says why: the token was not accepted, or you ran out of credits at MailerCheck. Buy more credits, then start it again. Addresses already checked keep their result.

## What the results mean

The card lists how many addresses got which result. On a contact, an address with a warning shows a small label under it, such as *Don't send — mailbox not found*:

* **Don't send:** *Mailbox not found*, *Spelling error*, *Probable typo* and *Blocked*. A message to these would bounce or never be read.
* **Risky:** *Disposable address* (a throwaway inbox), *Mailbox full*, *Shared address such as info@*, and *Could not be confirmed*. They may work; decide for yourself.
* **Catch-all domain:** the domain accepts every address, so the mailbox can't be confirmed. It is not a warning of its own: such addresses mostly work.

Valid addresses show no label.
