Tidy contact import in WrkLst. Read a big address book, sort out the doubles, check the email addresses, and bring in only the people worth having.

Open Settings, then Import, then Open contact import. Choose a vCard from your phone, or a CSV or Excel file from any other program. WrkLst reads it, fixes capitals and email typos, and shows what is new. Nothing is created until you confirm.

If WrkLst knows the file's layout, such as an ARTERNAL export, it matches the columns by itself. Otherwise you match them once, by hand or with AI. WrkLst guesses from the headings, and you can change any guess, or choose Don't import. The AI sees only the headings and a few examples.

WrkLst tidies while it reads. Entries that share an email become one contact, and Separate undoes it. The same name with another email is only suggested. Show sorts the list by kind, with counts.

Which of your tags are artists? Filter the tags and tick them, or choose Select all shown. Each one becomes an artist, or is matched to the one you already have. Its contacts are linked as an interest.

Give the import a tag, for example whose list it is. Every contact it creates or adds to gets that tag. Then import a second list, with its own tag. The people WrkLst already has get that tag too.

Some contacts are irregular, such as an address typed on one line. Tidy irregular contacts with AI is optional, and offers only those. Their details go to the AI provider only when you press the button. Each suggestion shows before and after, to accept or undo.

Checking the email addresses with MailerCheck is optional, but it improves your list. The page shows your credits first. Too few? Buy credits at MailerCheck, or check as many as they cover. Or import without it, and check later under Settings, Integrations.

Then you decide. Addresses that don't work are left out, or imported and marked. A contact stays out only when none of its addresses work. Risky and catch-all addresses count only if you tick them. Not working shows who is affected.

If the new contacts move your plan to another tier, WrkLst tells you first. You see works and contacts, the tier and the price, now and after. The bar at the foot says it too.

Search the list, and filter it. Your selection stays as it is. Your review is saved as you go, so you can close the page and continue later. The bar at the foot counts what is selected, and Import selected starts the import.

The import runs in the background. Close the page if you like, it shows how far it is when you come back. If it stops, Continue picks up after the last saved contact. At the end you see what was created, and what was merged.

Five habits make the difference. Give every import its own tag. Tick the artists among your tags. Use the optional steps when they help. Read the plan notice. And continue later, because the review is saved as you go.

That's the contact import in WrkLst. You'll find it under Settings, Import, and in Contacts, as Import contacts.
