Shared copies in WrkLst. Send works to another WrkLst account in a few clicks, whether that's a second account of your own, or a gallery, artist or collector who uses WrkLst too.

A shared copy is a copy, not a link. The works arrive with their artists and the details you choose, and the receiving account decides whether to accept them. Sales, shipments, exhibitions, consignments, lists and presentations always stay with you.

Open a work, or collect several in the basket, and choose Share, then Copy to Other Account. Under Send to, pick one of your own accounts from the list, or type the full e-mail address of the person receiving the copy.

If a copy can't go, the dialog tells you before you send. An address used for several accounts, an address with no WrkLst account, or an account that may not receive copies. So you always know where the works are going.

Under Include, tick what travels with the works, such as prices, images, locations, condition, provenance, documents or the insurance value. Details your role can't see are never sent. Then choose Send copy.

Incoming copies wait under Shared Copies, in the menu with your name. Every copy shows its status, who shared it and when. Filter by type to see only incoming or only outgoing copies, or search by name.

Open an incoming copy with Accept and copy. First, match each source artist to one of your own artists, or create a new one. Create all unknown artists does it in one step for everyone you don't have yet.

Then choose a local inventory for each source inventory. The copied works get new inventory numbers from it, and their original numbers are kept as legacy numbers. Finally, choose Accept and start copying.

Copying runs in the background, and a large selection can take a few minutes. Meanwhile, the status reads Copying. The moment the works are ready, a notification takes you straight to them.

Don't want a copy? Decline incoming copy refuses it, and a sender can withdraw one with Cancel outgoing copy. Both are final. Who may send, receive or see copies is set by the role, in each account.

Five habits make the difference. Send to a named account, never to a guess. Tick only what the other side needs. Leave confidential notes out when you send to others. Match every artist before you accept. And decline what you don't want.

That's shared copies in WrkLst. You send them from the Share menu of a work or the basket, and you'll find every copy under Shared Copies, in the menu with your name.
